The American Friends of the Spirit of Israel's mission is to foster support of the Spirit of Israel by US based Israelis and Israel-rooted companies based in the USA. In 2018, The American Friends of the Spirit of Israel support of the "Brighter Futures" scholarship fund, helped 10 youth village graduates to acquire the higher education that will enable them to fulfill their potential and become self-supporting.

The Spirit of Israel is an a-political non-profit subsidiary of the Jewish Agency for Israel, established in 1998. Its mission is to strengthen Israeli society by supporting educational and social programs, through the development of Israeli charitable giving and engaging the public in social activism. Focusing on Israel's geographical and social periphery, the Spirit of Israel works with volunteers and donors from the private and business sectors in order to close social gaps and support vulnerable populations.
